So, as of today Leona and Adrian are officially registered into a school! It's a nice, international school called Rainbow, hosting about 60 different nationalities from all over the world, though majority of them are from Uganda and other african countries. The school follows a british curriculum so Leona will, according to her age, jump directly into Year 2! She is very excited about that! They have subjects like English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Arts, IT, swimming twice a week etc..The school day beginns at 8 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. There is a small break for a snack, a big 30 min break for playing and a 60 min. lunch break.
Leona will get help with her english at the beginning but according to other parents, children get fluent within about 3 months! I still can't believe this, but we'll see....
Adrian will attend the kindergarden and next year join the preschool class.
Today we already bougth a school uniform (mandatory) for them and they proudly wore it the whole day long!
And the best thing about the school? Leona saw some jumping monkeys today in a tree, in the middle of the school garden!
School starts on the 7th of January, exactly on Leonas 7th birthday!
At the end of this exciting day, the kids were a bit tired, looking forward to a good portion of sleep (which they are getting right now ;-)
