Shrekerella

The English are a funny tribe. I have to admit that initially I disregarded them a bit due to their superior affectation, their strange humour and their baked beans. But somehow that picture has changed quite significantly, not only because there are so many friendly and funny Englishmen and -women around, but also because what they do is actually really funny! Now, of course I am generalising terribly, but one among those many things is their passion for theater and most notably this thing called "British Pantomime". It's a hilarious musical comedy with an off-beat plot and lots of audience interaction. One is staged every year just before Christmas. This year it is a strange combination of Shrek and Cinderella: Once upon a time, in a land far far away, Shrek met Cinderella...". I couldn't resist going to the auditions and indeed I walk out with a major part: the big green guy.

Rehearsals are fun and I don't take the whole thing very serious until 2 weeks before the actual show - I'm shaking in my boots. Just before each performance I am undergoing a colorful metamorphosis...

...Leona also has a small part as a mouse; however, she seems to be pretty cool about the whole thing.

Finally, all the sweat of the last weeks is turned into a colourful and hilarious show with Puss in Boots, Donkey, Prince Charming, Cinderella, her evil stepmother and the two evil stepsisters.

Naturally, there must be a happy end...

...but the actual happy end of the story takes place late at night after the last performance with the whole crew going mad in a night club.

Haha, and some of those scenes turn out even better than the actual performance ;-)
